Sugar prices suffer setback on weak demand

Navi Mumbai, Jun 2 (UNI) Sugar prices suffered a setback on weak demand, traders here today said.

Sugar rates of small and medium grades declined by Rs three and Rs five per quintal, respectively, on lack of fresh demand.

Sugar rates of ex-mill small and medium grades eased by Rs two and Rs four per quintal, respectively, on increase of stock supply from producing centers.

Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,890/1,935, medium grade Rs 1,920/1,970.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,880/1,903 and medium grade Rs 1,908/1,935.

44 railway officials fall ill after consuming contaminated sweets

Bilaspur, June 2 (UNI) Forty-four railway officials were taken ill after consuming contaminated sweets from the railway canteen in Bilaspur division headquarters, railway sources said today. The railway officials contracted diarrhoea after consuming the sweets purchased from the canteen yesterday. The affected were admitted to railway hospital. On receiving information, Divisional Rail Manager R N Bartaria, senior officials and doctors inspected the canteen. A sample of the sweet was sent to Raipur for testing,.....

Implementation of Cyber Law important: Kumaraswamy

Bangalore, June 2 (UNI) As Information Technology has entered every sphere in the present Society, enacting of proper Cyber Law and its proper implementation assumes importance to curb Cyber crime, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said today. Anti malaria campaign begins in Surat

Surat, June 2 (UNI) The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has undertaken an anti-malaria campaign in order to check the spread of the water-borne disease, which creates scare during the monsoon months. The campaign, which began yesterday with a rally, was inaugurated by SMC Mayor Kanu Mavani. It will continue for a month with a number of activities.
