Uday Kaul to lead north in Adhikari Trophy

Chandigarh, May 22 (UNI) Uday Kaul of Punjab will lead North Zone in the Hemu Adhikari Trophy for Under-19 tournament beginning in Bangalore on May 27.

Announcing the team, Punjab Cricket Association secretary M P Pandove said that the Hemu Adhikari Tournament has assumed greater significance as the Indian Under-19 team for the England tour would be selected during the tournament.

The Indian U-19 team will play four-day and one-day matches in England.

North Zone team: Udai Kaul (captain, Punjab), Gaurav Chhabra (Vice Captain (Delhi), Sunny Sohal (Punjab), Ian Dev Singh (J&K), Virat Kohli (Delhi), Sumit Sharma (Punjab), Yogesh Nagar (Delhi), Sarabjit Singh (Punjab), Ishant Sharma (Delhi), Rakesh Rana (Himachal Pradesh), Amanpreet Singh (Punjab), Sumit Kalia (Punjab), Manan Sharma (Delhi), Vipan Kumar (Punjab).

Asia Netcom buyer sees IPO in 12-18 months -source

SHANGHAI, May 22 (Reuters) A British group buying Asia Netcom from China Netcom Group Corp. plans to take the company public within 12 to 18 months of closing the deal, a source close to the transaction told Reuters. The group, which includes General Enterprise Management Services Ltd. (GEMS), Spinnaker Capital and Ashmore Investment Management, has finalised the deal, which still needs approval from the Chinese government, said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity......

Budapest Zoo apes have taste for red wine

BUDAPEST, May 22 (Reuters) Monkeys and apes in Budapest's Zoo drink their way through 55 litres of red wine each year, albeit in small quantities each day, to help boost their red blood cells, the zoo today said. Budapest Zoo spokesman Zoltan Hanga said it was the 11 anthropoid apes who drank most of the wine in 2005. ''Obviously, they do not have it all at once and get drunk, but they get it in.....
