Two bombs blast Baghdad market

Baghdad, May 22 : Two bombs blasted a Baghdad market today causing an as yet unknown number of casualties, police sources said.

A car bomb and another bomb, possibly a suicide attack, struck the crowed area in the New Baghdad district in the mainly Shi'ite east of the capital.

Centre to invest 45 cr for forest projects in NE

Aizawl, May 22 (UNI) The Centre would invest Rs 45 crore for six Forest Development Agency(FDA) proposals for the North Eastern region to cover 3,440 hectares through 106 joint forest management committees. An amount of Rs 45.08 crore was released to the NE states till February 2006, official sources here today said. The Union Environment and Forests Ministry had also sanctioned 16 FDA proposals involving a total project cost of Rs 250.71 crore from April.....

Pharmacies threaten stir against IRB action

Imphal, May 22 (UNI) Pharmacy owners of Manipur have threatened to close down all pharmacies in the state if action was not taken against Indian Reserve Battallion personnel, who had beaten up four pharmacists. Salesmen and pharmacists also staged protest yesterday against the assault on a salesman near the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Saturday night. Lok Sabha condemns Srinagar killings

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today condemned the militant attack on a Congress rally in Srinagar yesterday in which seven people were killed and 20 injured, and members observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives.
