Three arrested with country-made pistols

Jamnagar, May 22 (UNI) District police have arrested three villagers along with two illegally kept country-made pistols here.

Police Inspector H C Joshi seized a pistol from Naranbhai Meragbhai Chavda (50) of Mota Asoda village while he was moving under suspicious condition on Jamnagar-Khambhalia Highway.

On interrogation, Chavda told police that he had bought the pistol from Nathubhai Maldevbhai Nandania, who in turn admitted to have sold another country-made pistol to his brother Gagabhai Maldevbhai Nandania.

Police seized another pistol from him.

Further investigation are underway.

Medical services still hit in northwest

Chandigarh, May 22 (UNI) Medical services in most of the government and private medical colleges in Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh remained adversely affected on the eighth consecutive day today as resident doctors and medical students continued with their stir against reservation. Girls fare better in Pondy Plus Two exams

Pondicherry, May 22 (UNI) Girls fared better than boys in the Plus Two examinations in Pondicherry when the results were declared today. Pondicherry registered an overall pass percentage of 74.15 per cent, which was higher by 2.13 per cent compared to last year, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told a press conference here today. The Pondicherry region registered 73.87 per cent pass percentage, which was higher by 0.98 per cent, while Karaikal region had 75.58 pass percentage,.....
