Tata International ties up with Dutch Lanka to make trailers

Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) Tata group major, Tata International (TIL) has set up a 50:50 joint venture with Dutch Lanka Trailer Manufacturers (Pvt) Ltd, to manufacture trailers.

The new company, christened Tata International DLT Pvt Ltd, will have its manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune.

A press release issued here today said the JV unit will manufacture the full range of trailers like skeletal trailer, flat bed trailer, tipper trailer, car carrier, port trailers, cement bulkers and low bed trailers, for all market segments.

DLT has a manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka and has been selling trailers not only in Sri Lanka, but also exporting them to Bangladesh, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Philippines, Syria, Iran and some countries in Africa. Over the last 10 years, DLT has developed proven designs for a wide range of trailers.

During the last four years, TIL has imported several trailers from DLT and these have been sold to various customers in India who have been satisfied with their performance, the release said, adding that the new JV proposes to manufacture trailers in India, based on the designs of DLT developed over the years.

Koirala expands Cabinet in Nepal
