Talks and disciplinary action cannot go together: BJP

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Taking note of the disciplinary action initiated by the Government against the striking doctors by asking them to vacate their hostels, the BJP today said repressive measures and discussions cannot go hand in hand.

Welcoming the government's move to hold discussions on the quota issue, BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the government has served termination notices on striking medicos and asked them to vacate their hostel rooms. If the Government is interested in holding talks, than it should not use such dirty tactics. The youth needed to be reassured that their future would not be jeopardised because of the reservations, he said.

Shabir too rejects round-table conference invitation

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) Rejecting the invitation for second round of the round-table conference called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on May 24-25, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today dismissed the conclave as an attempt to ''buy time.'' SC rejects petition against Minister's wife's company

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Supreme Court today declined to entertain a petition challenging Bombay High Court granting permission to a construction company, run by wife of Goa's Transport and Revenue minister Pandurang Madkaikar, to use the road adjacent to NH 17 to build a huge residential complex. A Vacation Bench comprising Mr Justice Arijit Pasayat and Mr justice R V Raveendran declined to entertain the petition on the ground that it was against.....

Japan U-19 Football Team to play three friendly matches
