Syndicate Bank Chairman meets K'taka CM

Bangalore, May 22 (UNI) Syndicate Bank Chairman and Managing Director C P Swarnkar today called on Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Mr Swarnkar apprised Mr Kumaraswamy about the key role played by his Bank in the development of the State. He also briefed him about some of the new schemes introduced by the Bank, according to a bank release here.

Separatists puncture round-table balloon yet again

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) The separatists have once again rejected repeated pleas from various quarters to join the round-table conference called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to seek views from all shades of opinion at a common forum for resolving the contentious Kashmir issue. Sri Lanka stocks slip as violence stokes uncertainty

COLOMBO, May 22 (Reuters) Sri Lankan stocks ended slightly weaker on Monday as investors worried a spike in violence since early April could spiral into renewed civil war, traders said, citing increasing uncertainty in the market. The Colombo All Share index fell 0.28 percent to close at 2,219.73 points. Turnover was less than the recent daily average at 119 million rupees ($1.15 million). The market is up around 15 percent so far this year......
