Suicide disrupts metro services

Kolkata, May 22 (UNI) Metro services in the city remained disrupted for more than an hour in the peak evening hours after a youth committed suicide at Mahatma Gandhi station today.

Official sources said the incident took place when the youth jumped before a Tollygunge-bound train which was entering the station.

As a result, train services on both lines remained suspended causing inconvenience to the home-bound people.

Metro services resumed after the youth's body was removed from the track.

11 security personnel among 30 injured in Srinagar blasts

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) A day before the 2nd Round Table confernce to be held here on May 24-25, militants struck yet again today in a big way hurling three hand grenades in the city causing injuries to 30 people, including eleven security personnel. SIMI likely to be banned; UP against central move

Lucknow, May 22 (UNI) Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) is set to be banned shortly with the Centre issuing a show cause notice to the organisation. However, the Uttar Pradesh government today clarified it would not support the centre's move.
