Suicide disrupts metro services

Kolkata, May 22 (UNI) Metro services in the city remained disrupted for more than an hour in the peak evening hours after a youth committed suicide at Mahatma Gandhi station today.

Official sources said the incident took place when the youth jumped before a Tollygunge-bound train which was entering the station.

As a result, train services on both lines remained suspended causing inconvenience to the home-bound people.

Metro services resumed after the youth's body was removed from the track.

NJMC workers withdraw hunger strike

Barrackpore, May 22 (UNI) National Jute Mill Corporation workers today withdrew their eight-day long hunger strike at Titagarh mill in North 24 Parganas after police intervention. Punjab CM affirms on RIL project in agri sector
