Second car bomb kills three in Baghdad - police

BAGHDAD, May 22: A car bomb went off in a crowded street in southeastern Baghdad, killing at least three people and setting a building ablaze, police sources said.

One policeman said he saw at least three bodies lying on the road and four cars on fire after the explosion in the Zaafaraniya district. It was the second such attack today, two days after a new government was appointed. It came as British Prime Minister Tony Blair flew in to Baghdad for talks.

Montenegro independence referendum succeeds - official

PODGORICA, Serbia and Montenegro, May 22 (Reuters) More than 55 percent of Montenegrins voted for independence yesterday, achieving the majority set by the European Union for recognition of their referendum result, an official preliminary count showed. The referendum commission president, Frantisek Lipka, told a news conference on Monday that 55.4 percent of votes cast were in favour of ending the union with Serbia.
