Sachin to undergo fitness test tomorrow

Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar will undergo a fitness test at the Mumbai Cricket Association's Bandra-Kurla Complex ground here tomorrow, BCCI sources said.

The test would take place in presence of Andrew Leipus (former physio of Indian cricket team) and selection committee chairman Kiran More.

Sachin underwent a surgery on the shoulder in March in London which was performed by Dr Andrew Wallace. Though, he opted out of the ODI against West Indies, Sachin has started practicing.

The selection committee will select the Test squad for West Indies on May 24. The four-Test series is commencing from June 2.

Sachin is scheduled to leave for London the same night to consult Dr Wallace, sources added.

ASSOCHAM calls for hike in petrol prices; MAT abolishment

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Besides urging the government to abolish Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT) on oil companies, ASSOCHAM today suggested an immediate upwardly revision in prices of petrol, diesel, LPG and kerosene to mitigate the impact of spiralling international crude prices on the oil marketing firms.
