Robbery in summer special train in Bihar

Patna, May 22 (UNI) Passengers of Patna-New Delhi summer special train were robbed by criminals at Patna-Mughalsarai section in Danapur division of East Central Railway today.

Police Superintendent (Rail) G P Sinha said here the anti-socials boarded the train at Patna railway station and started robbing the travellers soon after the train left the station. He said the criminals got down from the train at Karisat halt near Ara railway station. Mr Sinha said the jawans of Railway Police chased the criminals but the latter managed to escape.

An intensive search operation was launched by the railway police and local police at Masarh village and adjoining places to apprehend the criminals.

Five gangsters involved in bus robberies arrested

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Delhi police have arrested five persons involved in hundreds of robberies, cases of snatching and pick pocketing in busy markets and running buses. The five gangsters were arrested on Saturday night from Raja garden in West Delhi while they were planning to commit another robbery, police said. The police recovered from the robbers 168 mobile phones, 24 cellphone batteries, two countrymade pistols, one Tata Indica Car, five VCD/DVD players.....

More than 28000 two-wheeler riders prosecuted for traffic violatio

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Delhi Police has prosecuted a total of 28065 two-wheeler riders/pillion riders for committing several traffic offences such as riding without helmets and triplem riding. While 24041 two-wheeler riders/pillion riders were prosecuted for not wearing helmets, as part of a special traffic enforcement drive launched by the police from April 24, 4024 have been booked for triple riding, police said. The police said the drive would be intensified in the coming.....

Forest principal secretary asked to appear before HC

Allahabad, May 22 (UNI) Allahabad High Court directed the principal secretary, Uttar Pradesh forest department, to appear in the court on July 6 next and show cause why his public accountability may not be fixed. The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices V M Sahai and Sabhajeet Yadav, while hearing a writ petition filed by M Rao, divisional forest officer (DFO), Bijnore, who had challenged the chargesheet of May 3 issued against.....
