'Reform Our Judiciary': PM

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Reforming judiciary was stressed tonight by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who cited India's abiding commitment to rule of law among reasons why the ''world respects us.'' ''We have to reform our judiciary,'' Dr Singh said in remarks at a function marking the United Progressive Alliance's two years in office.

The Prime Minister emphasised the need to make Indian legislatures ''result oriented'' in pursuit of ''a more transparent, honest and efficient government.'' He said the world respected India because ''we are an open society and an open economy, seeking our salvation as a functioning democracy with an abiding commitment to respect fundamental rights and the rule of law.'' One dies after being buried under mound of earth

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) A labourer died after being buried under a mound of earth at a construction site in Rohini in North Delhi this afternoon. Two other labourers who were also buried under the mound of earth, opposite the Rohini Metro station, suffered minor injuries, fire brigade sources said. While one of the injured was admitted to the Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital, another was admitted to a nirsing home in Ashok Vihar, they said. UNI.....

Three die, two injured after being run over by DTC bus

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Three persons died while two others were injured when a DTC bus ran over them in Northwest Delhi early today, police said. The five persons, including two women, were crossing the road after alighting from a Punjab Roadways bus at Makarba Chowk when the DTC bus, plying at the Outer Ring Road crushed them, the police said.
