PSL bags Rs 168 cr order from L

Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) PSL Ltd has received a major water pipeline project from Larsen&Toubro's subsidiary ECC, Chennai, for supply of coated pipes worth Rs 168 crore for a Japanese funded project being implemented by Kerala Water Authority.

Announcing this to the BSE, the Company said the coated pipes are to be supplied in compliance with international technical specifications as per API requirements, including external anti-corrosion coating; with steel grit blasting and also shop applied internal cement lining.

The completion schedule of this project shall be September 2006 to December 2006. The project will serve drinking water requirements in eleven cities and small towns.

Meanwhile, the Company has announced its investment plans in UAE.

It will set up its manufacturing plant in Hamriyah Free Trade Zone, Sharjah, and will start its operations by early 2007. The Company has also received an order worth Rs 181.5 crore from GAIL for supply of 164.5 Kms of pipe. It will make these pipes once again for Dahej Uran Pipeline project.

No payment problems says SEBI chief

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) On a day of meltdown in the stock market when the Sensex finally crashed by 456.84 points after an intra-day jolt of 1112 points, the Securties and Exchange Board of India assured the investors that there are no payment or liquidity problems in the bourses. Army celebrates Teethwal day

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) The Army today celebrated the Teethwal day to commemorate the liberation of Teethwal in Karnah area of Jammu and Kashmir on May 22, 1948. A defence spokesman said the celebration this year spanned over two weeks in which a host of sporting and social events were organised.
