PRD launches its own website

Patna, May 22 (UNI) The Bihar Information and Public Relations Department today inaugurated its website to enable the people to have an easy access to the governmen's programmes and policies.

Inaugurating the website of his department, Information Minister Arjun Rai said efforts were being made under the personal guidance of Chief minister Nitish Kumar to make the state a pioneering one in the field of information sharing in this regard.

The website address is 'prd.bih.org'.

Mr Rai said a well equipped 'Inforamation Centre' had been established in the state capital to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on May 24.

Special arrangements had been made for the benefit of the journalists to send the news and avail of other required facilities, he added.

Information Secretary Vivek Kumar Singh said all the press releases of the different departments would be available on the website.

Edible oil worth Rs 40 lakh destroyed in fire

Latur, Maharashtra, May 22 (UNI) Edible oil, estimated at Rs 40 lakh, was gutted in a major fire that broke out in the godowns of Om Enterprises, a leading Vanaspati oil distributor, in Ganjgolai market in the city here today. The fire broke out at around 0500 hrs and the fire brigade was alerted at 0530 hrs, sources said. At least eight fire engines, including three from Latur, and those from neighbouring Osmanabad, Nanded, Solapur, Ambejogai.....

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Water shortage in Delhi is all set to be mitigated with the operationalisation today of the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, after Uttar Pradesh released the much-awaited water to the plant last night.
