Police lathi charge people at Rakhi Sawant's show

Nanded, Maharashtra, May 22 (UNI) Item girl Rakhi Sawant and members of her troupe were forced to stop their dance performance at the Nava Mondha locality here after police lathi charged spectators who tried to break the barricades and climb on the stage.

When spectators tried to reach the stage, police intervened and lathi-charged the mob. The irate mob began throwing chairs at the stage compelling Rakhi and her troupe to discontinue the dance show.

The event, part of a series of programme, was sponsored by a leading private company and began around 2030 hrs where Rakhi danced to the tunes of hit Bollywood numbers like 'Kajra Re' followed by another hit song from Hindi film 'No Entry'.

The police escorted Rakhi and the members of her troupe out after dispersing the crowd of around 10,000 people.

Mohan Singh's descendents file petition for execution of will

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The descendents of the founder of Ranbaxy Group of Industries Dr Bhai Mohan Singh have filed a petition in the District Courts seeking execution of the will he had signed before his death on March 27, 2006. The probate is filed in the Tis Hazari District Courts by his son Bhai Analjit Singh for the execution of the will signed by Dr Singh on August 24, 2006 and registered on November.....

'Reform Our Judiciary': PM

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Reforming judiciary was stressed tonight by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who cited India's abiding commitment to rule of law among reasons why the ''world respects us.'' ''We have to reform our judiciary,'' Dr Singh said in remarks at a function marking the United Progressive Alliance's two years in office. The Prime Minister emphasised the need to make Indian legislatures ''result oriented'' in pursuit of ''a more transparent, honest and efficient.....

Munda appeals to Naxalitesto join mainstream

Koderma, May 22 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today appealed to the proscribed Naxalites to shun guns and join the mainstream of the society. He said only peaceful negotiation across the table could solve problems. Inaugurating a bridge over Barkar river at Dumduma in the district, the Chief Minister said his government was determined ''to do good for the people.'' Mr Munda also said the government has decided to give pension to physically challeged persons.....
