PM renews appeal to medicos to call off stir

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today renewed his appeal to striking medicos to call off their agitation on the reservation issue, assuring them that his government would protect ''legitimate interests'' of all sections of society.

The government was committed to a "just and inclusive" education system to make sure that its benefits ensured genuine progress of the nation, he said, addressing a function held to celebrate the completion of two years in office by the Congress-led UPA Government at the centre.
