MSK Projects raises $8 mn through FCCB

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) MSK Projects (India) Ltd, an infrastructure development company, which specialises in execution of infrastructure projects on build-operate-transfer basis, today announced it has sucessfully raised 8 million dollars through Foreign Credit Currency Bonds (FCCB).

The company will utilise the funds for the completition of the BOT projects including Dewas water supply project (Rs 90 crore), construction of bus terminals at Jallandar and Ludhiana (Rs 34 crore), construction of Kim-Mandvi Road (Rs 21 crore), Himatnagar by pass project (Rs 8 crore) and building a residental complex at Bhandup in Mumbai (Rs 9 crore).

Work on all projects have commenced and is expected to be completed on time. MSK Projects also have got a secured loan of Rs 100 crore from the infrastructure Development Finance Corporation, Punjab National Bank and the State Bank of India for implementing these projects.

The company also has bagged a Rs 22 crore contract in the new petroleum refinery coming up at Bina in Madhya Pradesh.

Pakistani MoS Foreign Affairs leaves for Argentina, Mexico

Islamabad, May 22 (UNI) Pakistan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar today left for Argentina and Mexico for the inaugural rounds of high level bilateral political consultations, following President Pervez Musharraf's landmark visit to Latin American countries in December 2004. The Minister will participate in the bilateral political consultations in Buenos Aires and Mexico City on May 24 and 26 respectively. 12 candidates file nomination for K'taka Council elections

Bangalore, May 22 (UNI) A dozen candidates, including Council Chairman V R Sudarshan (Congress), have filed their nominations for the June one election to the Karnataka Legislative Council from the State Assembly to fill 11 seats. The ruling coalition partners, Janata Dal (S) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the main opposition Congress have nominated four candidates each for the biennial elections to the upper house. OBC quota: Medicos stage demo, relay fast enters Day 4

Mysore, May 22 (UNI) Hundreds of medical and engineering students and junior doctors stage a demonstration in front of the K R hospital, even as the relay fast by medicos, in protest against the Centre's move to reserve 27 per cent of the seats for OBCs in higher education, entered the fourth day today.
