MP medicos asked to vacate hostels

Bhopal, May 22 (UNI) Taking a tough stand against the agitating medicos in Madhya Pradesh, the government today served them notices to immediately return to duty or vacate the hostels in two or three days.

Bhopal's Hamidia Hospital Dean Nirbhay Shrivastava said health services remained affected due to the strike, but emergency services were being maintained.

Madhya Pradesh Junior Doctors Association spokesman Amit Vyas said relay hunger strike by the medicos continued and junior doctors of Ayurved colleges also joined in the agitation since yesterday.

Meanwhile, pro-reservationist Fight for Right Association President Dr Chandrasekhar said the pro-reservationists would take out a rally here tomorrow.

Junior doctors at the government medical colleges at Indore, Gwalior, Rewa and Jabalpur were also on strike, reports received here said.

Efforts on to form platform with like-minded parties: Uma

Chennai, May 22: Bharatiya Jansakthi Party Founder Uma Bharti today announced she would establish a common platform along with like-minded parties in a couple of months to provide an alternative to the Congress, BJP and Left parties. The firebrand leader, who was here on the tenth day of her 'Bharat Protection Yatra' which commenced in Rameswaram on May 13, said the intiative might start in Tamil Nadu as she had received tremendous response and support from the people during her 'yatra.'.....

PMK says no change in stand on support to DMK Govt

Chennai, May 22 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Founder-Leader S Ramadoss today said there was no change in his party's stand to provide outside and unconditional support to the DMK government in Tamil Nadu. Talking to reporters here, he said ''we will not join the government. We will continue to provide outside support to the DMK Government. Our support is unconditional.'' Asked whether the PMK would reconsider its decision in the wake of the demand.....

Malik not to attend Srinagar round-table

Srinagar, May 22: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik today said he had already decided not to participate in the round-table conference.Talking to UNI here, Malik said he had rejected the invitation to attend the first round-table in New Delhi on February 25.''There is no change in my stand,'' he added.However, the JKLF Chief declined to comment on receiving the fresh invitation to attend the second round-table conference to be chaired by Prime Minister.....
