Jalandhar resident arrested

Kolkata, May 22 (UNI) M Singh, a resident of Jalandhar, was arrested by the police today after immigration authorities at NSCBI airport here found that he had travelled to Dubai on another man's passport.

Singh was deported from Dubai yesterday after the immigration authorities there found dissimilarities in the photograph on his passport.

After interrogation here Singh conceded that he had taken the passport of one Aloke Singh and travelled to Gulf seeking better fortune.

CBSE Class XII results tomorrow

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Central Board of Secondary Education will announce the Class XII results tomorrow. The results for all regions, including that of Delhi along with foreign schools, Ajmer, Chandigarh, Allahabad, Guwahati and Chennai, would be out by 0800 hrs, a CBSE statement said today. They would be available on the board's website -- www.cbse.nic.in and www.results.nic.in -- besides through the Intercative Voice Response System (91-11-24357270 Delhi, 95-11-24357270 NCR and 011-24357270 rest.....

Nitish for special status to Bihar

Patna, May 22 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today urged the Centre to accord special status to the state for giving impetus to the pace of development. Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the Centre should also provide a special package for the state`s development. He said the six-month rule of the present NDA government was full of challenges, adding the government had taken several important decisions and these were being implemented.....

Govt not discriminatory in sanction of rail lines: Velu

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Government today assured in the Rajya Sabha that it was not discriminatory while deciding on extension of the rail network to the north-east region of the country. Responding to a Half-Hour Discussion in the House regarding the extension of rail lines in the north-eastern region, Minister of State for Railways R Velu assured member from Nagaland TR Zeliang that his state had not been discriminated against in the matter.....
