Gujarat to have new policy on women's empowerment

Gandhinagar, May 22 (UNI) The Gujarat Government today decided to formulate a new policy for women's empowerment and children's development.

The decision was taken by Chief Minister Narendra Modi after reviewing the draft with a high-level committee, official sources said here today.

Mr Modi announced that suggestions made by the committee would be incorporated in the new policy and would be placed before the State Cabinet for approval.

The meeting was attended by Gujarat Women Welfare Minister Anandiben Patel and other top officials.

Conference of Chief Registrars of births and deaths on May 23-24

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The two-day annual National Conference of Chief Registrars of Births and Deaths will begin here tomorrow. Raje launches Bisalpur-Dudu water project

Jaipur, May 22 (UNI) Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia launched the Bisalpur-Dudu water project today under the month-long Jal Chetna yatra. With this launch, Dudu will now get drinking water from the Bisalpur dam through a pipeline, alleviating the drinking water problems of the region. With the steadily receding ground water levels, the area is facing dearth of water.The only way to tide over the problem is to harvest rainwater through dams and building other.....
