Dacoity committed in summer special in Bihar

Patna, May 22 (UNI) Passengers of Patna-New Delhi summer special train were looted of their valuables by criminals at Patna-Mughalsarai section in Danapur division of East Central Railway today.

Police Superintendent (Rail) G.P. Sinha said here that the anti-socials boarded the train at Patna railway station and started looting the travellers soon after the train left the station. He said the passengers got down from the train at Karisat halt near Ara railway station. He said the jawans of Railway Police chased the criminals but the latter managed to escape.

An intensive search operation was launched by the railway police and local police at Masarh village and adjoining places to nab criminals.

Munda appeals to Naxalitesto join mainstream

Koderma, May 22 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today appealed to the proscribed Naxalites to shun guns and join the mainstream of the society. He said only peaceful negotiation across the table could solve problems. Inaugurating a bridge over Barkar river at Dumduma in the district, the Chief Minister said his government was determined ''to do good for the people.'' Mr Munda also said the government has decided to give pension to physically challeged persons.....

Total value of commodity futures at Rs 21.34 lakh crore, up by 274%

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The total value of commodity futures trade for the year 2005-06 was Rs 21.34 lakh crore as compared to Rs 5.71 lakh crore during the previous year with an increase of 274 per cent. The volume of trade has also gone up to 6685 lakh tonnes during the current fiscal as comapred to 1942.1 lakh tonnes during last year, an increase of 244 per cent, said, a PIB release here today......

Govt proposes amendments in Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act 1952

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) In order to include some new features in tune with the latest developments in the commodity futures market, the Department of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments in the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952. The commodity futures market is regulated under the provisions of the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952. The commodity futures trade registered a 274 per cent growth by touching Rs 21.34 lakh crore in 2005-06 as against.....
