BJP flays CM for comments on Mumbai's issues

Mumbai,May 22 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP today criticised Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for his reported comments that responsibility of Mumbai lies with the civic corporation and not with the State Government.

In a statement here, BJP State unit president Nitin Gadkari said Mr Deshmukh's comments have shocked the people of Mumbai as the comments were tantamount to the State Government's attempt to wash its hands off Mumbai's issues.

Mr Gadkari described the Chief Minister's reported comments as ''irresponsible''.

He said the people expected the Government to assure that the flood situation, as witnessed last year, will not recur.

MP Cong chief named in payoffs diary

Bhopal, May 22 (UNI) A major political controversy is rising in Madhya Pradehs after the name of state Congress President Subhash Yadav, who was deputy chief minister during the Digvijay Singh regime, allegedly figured in a diary seized during an Income Tax raid on a company in Hyderabad, sources said. KAADC session convened to elect new CEM

Diphu, May 22 (UNI) A special session of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council (KAADC) has been summoned on May 27 to elect its new Chief Executive Member (CEM). A notification to this effect was issued by Asom Governor Lt Gen. (retd) Ajoi Singh today, official sources said.
