Bank manager convicted in corruption case

Patna, May 22 (UNI) A former manager of a nationalised bank and a businessman were today convicted in a case of cheating and corruption by special CBI judge of Patna Ramanand Sharma.

The designated judge found former manager of Maheshkhunt branch of State Bank of India S N Jha and a supplier of agricultural equipment Anand Kumar Thakur guilty of corruption and cheating under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Prevention of Corruption (PC) act.

According to the charges both the convicts cheated the bank in the name of supplying agricultural equipment to the fake farmers thus pitting the bank under the loss of over Rs 5 lakhs.

Delhi Govt follows suit: issue notice to all striking docs

New Delhi, May 22: The Delhi Government today announced that it will serve notices to all its striking doctors, asking them to report for work within 24 hours as their continuous work boycott was illegal.
