8 hostages freed from dacoits

Bhopal, May 22 : Police today claimed to have rescued 8 people from the clutches of dacoits in Ashoknagar and Sheopur districts.

On a tip-off, in a joint operation by Shivpuri and Ashoknagar police, the manager and driver of a construction company engaged in road construction in Ashoknagar district, who were kidnapped last week, were released yesterday.

In another operation in Sheopur district, six people held in captivity by the Ramesh Jatav gang were rescued in an encounter, when the dacoits managed to escape in the darkness. The encounter took place in Vijaypur police station area, police said.

India-US group to submit report on clinical research

New Delhi, May 22: India-US Joint Industry Working Group for Biotechnology will prepare a report on transfer of biomaterials, clinical research and new product development and innovation, Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal today said.
