Besra to meet Jharkhand Governor on threat issue

Jamshedpur, May 18 (UNI) A delegation of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) will meet Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi in Ranchi tomorrow.

One of the convenors of the JVM, Surya Singh Besra, would apprise the Governor about yesterday's alleged telephonic threat by Chief Minister Arjun Munda to him for exposing the latter on corruption issue during a meeting of the JVM here on May 14.

He would also submit a copy of the FIR, which was lodged with Govindpur police station against Mr Munda and the printout of his cell phone on which the Chief Minister Munda allegedly called from his Ranchi residence.

Mr Besra, the founder of All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), said he would not get cowed down by such threats and if needed, would initiate legal action Mr Munda.

Nigeria sees $20 bln investment from 17 oil blocks

NHRC seeks report on cremation of a fisherman

Kendrapada, May 18 : The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Kendrapada District administration to submit a detailed inquiry report on the cremation of Kakdeep-based fisherman, Ganesh Das, who was killed by Orissa forest officials on January two last.Ganesh was killed in firing by the joint patrolling of Orissa forest and police officials when he was catching fish illegally within the prohibited zone of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary near Chinchiri river mouth along with his fpllow fishermen.His body.....

BoM, United India Insurance enter JV

Pune, May 18 (UNI) Bank of Maharashtra today entered in an agreement with United India Insurance Company to offer cover for health and property under its Bancassurance and Mahabank Swasthya Yojana (MSY). The new scheme's feature is that it covers the entire family. Parents are also included by paying extra premium. No medical examination is necessary to subscribe to this scheme.
