Man arrested for murdering French woman

Pondicherry, May 12(UNI) A man hailing from West Bengal was arrested last night in connection with the murder of a French Woman here on May 10.

Talking to newspersons here today, Additional Senior Superintendent of Police B Srikanth said the police acting on the information that Manuel Basumatha, who was working as the domestic worker-cum driver with the family of Philomina Benova, was to escape to West Bengal yesterday from Chennai Central Station, nabbed him.

The accused confessed to committing the crime, following his termination by Philomina.
