Suzuki launches bike in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 01 (UNI) Suzuki Motorcycles India (SMIPL), a subsidiary of Japan's Automobile giant Suzuki Motor Corporation, launched its two-wheeler in the city today.

Addressing a press conference here, SMIPL Service Head Vipul Goel said, ''Suzuki promises to meet expectation of the consumers in terms of technology, styling and performance.'' The company has launched a new two-wheeler 125 cc 'Heat' bike first time in the country, he said.

Mr Goel said another model called 'Zeus' would be launched soon for the college students.

Maruti Alto, WagonR overtake Maruti 800

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Alto, WagonR, Zen and Swift came out be the hot selling cars from the Maruti Udyog stable, whereas the old favourite Maruti 800 was left behind in the race showing clearly the rising aspirations and purchasing power of the middle class. Car market leader Maruti Udyog Ltd today announced registering a 12.9 per cent increase in its sales with 43,127 vehicles sold in April 2006 as compared to 38,190 vehicles.....

India-Thailand to jointly work on food processing, infrastructure

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) India and Thailand have great potential to increase mutual trade and business, particularly in the food processing and infrastructure sectors. Nasscom for filling talent gaps

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) NASSCOM has identified a gap of half-a-million between the demand and availability of trained manpower for the IT (Information Technology) industry. ''We need to take steps like expanding the network for assessment to reach out to smaller cities and fixing a benchmark for assessment of skilled workers for the IT sector so that India's IT sector can keep growing in leaps and bounds,'' NASSCOM president Kiran Karnik said today.
