New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Chandrasekhar Sahu distributed National Rural Employment Guarantee cards to beneficiaries in nine blocks of Nabrangpur district of Orissa on 'May Day' today.
Addressing 'May Day' rallies in Nabrangpur and Umarkoat localities in the naxal-infested district, Mr Sahu said the government was planning to bring a ''landmark legislation'' for the millions of workers in the unorganised sector.
Hundreds of workers and farmers belonging to tribal communities attended the rallies.
The schemes and measures taken by the government will help improve the economic backwardness of the people, he added.
