Raids at 5 places in connection with Delhi Jal Board scam

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) The CBI has raided five places in Delhi and neighbouring Noida in connection with awarding of sewage desilting contract by Delhi Jal Board officials.

The raids follow an FIR by the CBI against a Superintendent Engineer, an Assistant Engineer and a Junior Engineer of the DJB and a Delhi-based private firm.

The CBI has alleged that the officials abused their official position while awarding the Rs 1.89 crore contract for sewage desilting in Patel Nagar and Keshopur.

It also alleges a second contract of 1.94 crore was awarded to the same company by the officials, on the pretext of emergency, without calling for fresh tenders.
