Project to establish international trade link with NE

Shillong, May 1 (UNI) The final report of the project 'NE State Trade and Investment Creation Initiative' is expected to be ready by June, which aims to exploit the locational advantages of the North Eastern states with Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, Bhutan and Nepal.

The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), will identify the products in which the North East has a comparative advantage and the trading points for promoting business, an official release said here today.

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) will finalise the report after consultations with the North Eastern states, the North Eastern Council (NEC), the Planning Commission and the concerned Central Ministries.

The ADB, through its technical assistance, seeks to develop a trade and investment framework for enabling North Eastern India to better position itself in global and regional markets and to reap the gains from specialisation and agglomeration of economies and globalisation.

The project also seeks to identify policies, legal and constitutional constraints hampering trade and develop an export facility for the region.

Hyderabad, May 1 (UNI) Satyam Computer Services today announced the appointment of industry veteran Dr Robert ''Bob'' Baginski as its Senior Vice President for Global Marketing and Communications. Dr Baginski will lead Satyam's marketing, communications, and branding initiatives worldwide. Jet net up by 61 per cent in 4Q

Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) Jet Airways Limited has recorded a net profit jump of 71 per cent to Rs 230 crore during the quarter ended March 31, 2006 while profit before tax was up by 68 per cent at Rs 360 crore. DuPont declares 2Q dividend at 37 cents per share

Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) DuPont today declared a second quarter common stock dividend of 37 cents per share, payable by June 12 this year. Announcing this, the company said the dividend is entitled to all the stockholders who were on the office record as on May 15, 2006. This dividend is the same as what was paid in the first quarter 2006. Further, it claims this is the 407th consecutive quarterly dividend since the company's.....
