Passport of Navy War Room leak accused Shankaran revoked

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) To force fugitive Ravi Shankaran, an accused in the Navy War Room leak case, to present himself before the CBI, the government today revoked his passport.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) revoked the passport of Ravi Shankaran on the request of the CBI, the agency spokesman G Mohanty said.

The CBI has also sent a request to the Interpol Secretariat General in Lyon (France) to issue a 'red corner notice' against him which would compel him to appear before the investigating agency for interrogation into the sensational leaking of defence documents, he said.

''This has been done as the accused had failed to present himself before the CBI despite several summons for questioning having been served on him,'' the spokesman added.

Earlier, the CBI had issued non-bailable warrants from a local court against Shankaran.

''This was imperative to get a red corner notice issued against him by the Interpol,'' he added.
