Maruti Udyog sales in April '06 up 12.4 pc

Mumbai, May 1: Car market leader Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) sold 41,574 vehicles in the domestic market in April this year as compared to 36,972 in April last year, reflecting a rise of 12.4 per cent.

Announcing this today, the company said it had in all sold 43,127 vehicles in April, including 1,553 units of exports as compared to 38,190 units in the same month last year.

Maruti's volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 26.4 per cent and in the A3 and C segments by 4.4 per cent during the month compared to sales in April last year, said a MUL release.

Ratnagiri Gas and Power Co resumes operation

Mumbai, May 1: The Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Ltd (RGPPL) has commissioned the first gas turbine from the plant's block 2 module and is hoping to generate 100 MW of electricity on a 24 hour basis from today.RGPPL Chairman and Managing Director Chandan Roy told sources that the module comprises two gas turbines and one steam turbine. The commisioned turbine is known as 'GT-2A' and the synchronisation of the entire plant will be completed by the mid of May......
