Maruti Udyog sales in April '06 up 12.4 pc

Mumbai, May 1: Car market leader Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) sold 41,574 vehicles in the domestic market in April this year as compared to 36,972 in April last year, reflecting a rise of 12.4 per cent.

Announcing this today, the company said it had in all sold 43,127 vehicles in April, including 1,553 units of exports as compared to 38,190 units in the same month last year.

Maruti's volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 26.4 per cent and in the A3 and C segments by 4.4 per cent during the month compared to sales in April last year, said a MUL release.
