Manmohan Singh condemns Doda terrorist attack

New Delhi, May 1: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today condemned the terrorist attack near Doda and virtually asked the perpetrators to realise that the people had rebuffed them repeatedly.

''People of Kashmir have rejected and rebuffed terrorists repeatedly,'' the Prime Minister said in a statement issued to condemn the attack.

According to a report from Doda, at least 22 Hindus were killed and ten others injured in two separate militant attacks in Kulhand village, about 30 km from Doda town, last night.

However, Public Relations Officer of 16 Corp of Army Col D K Badola has put the number of those killed at 20.

Vadodara, May 1: Two people were killed and 30 injured as sporadic incidents of violence today rocked the walled city area after a mob clashed with a Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) squad and police teams, while they were carrying out demolition of a dargah in Fatehpura area.Curfew has been clamped in the city police station area. HSCI records sales growth of 27.3 pc in Apr 2006

Ahmedabad, May 1: Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL) has already paid over Rs 8,000 crore as interests on borrowings out of Rs 21,286 crore spent on Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) on the Narmada till March 31 this year, according to SSNNL Chairman and Managing Director P K Laheri.
