Aurangabad, May 01 (UNI) DIG (Magadh Range) Arvind Pandey today said a departmental inquiry has revealed that the DSP's '' dereliction of duty'' led to naxal attack, killing a candidate to district board election and his five supporters in Gaya on April 24.

Mr Pandey told mediapersons that Deputy Superintendent of Police, Aurangabad (headquarter) Anjani Sinha did not send a contigent of CRPF, which was stationed near the Madanpur Police station on the day of naxal attack.

He said all the DSPs had earlier been directed to execute the pending warrants to attach properties in the naxal-affected areas, but Mr Sinha did not take any steps for attaching properties under Madanpur police station, even though forty cases to attach properties, were pending.
