Cong rules out coalition in TN

Madurai, May 1 (UNI) Ruling out the possibility of a coalition in the post-election scenario in Tamil Nadu, Union Minister and Congress leader E V K S Elangovan today expressed confidence that the DMK would form the next government in the state.

Addressing newspersons here before commencing electioneering in the city, he claimed the churning taking place all over the state offered no space for a coalition experiment.

Admitting it was a close call initially, Mr Elangovan said as the D-day was nearing the situation on the ground drastically changed, favouring the DMK-led DPA.

Likening the election to a tsunami, he said this time it would be a harbinger of good fortune by ensuring a regime change. In his view it would be a repeat of the last Lok Sabha poll when the DPA had a complete sweep.

According to him public revulsion against the AIADMK Government was very much visible as all sections of society had suffered in the last five years.

Later, he canvassed for the Congress nominee and the other candidates of the DPA in the city.
