Army jawan dies in grenade explosion

Bhuj, May 1 (UNI) An Army jawan, who sustained serious injuries while throwing away a grenade at Army Cantonment here yesterday, died in the hospital today.

Police have identified the deceased as Havasingh Balsingh Arya (22).

Police said Arya, who hails from Haryana, had hit the grenade while mowing grass in the the cantonment and tried to dispose it, but it exploded in his hand.

Second phase of Assembly polls begins peacefully
