Vaiko to campaign

Pondicherry, Apr 30 (UNI) Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(MDMK) leader Vaiko will undertake electioneering here tomorrow.

According to MDMK sources here, Mr Vaiko, will be arriving at Kanagachettikkulam,the border of Pondicherry at 1500 hrs. He will be accorded a rousing reception.He will undertake electioneering in support of the candidates of the AIADMK led front. He will address a public meeting at Thirubhuvanai in the night.

The MDMK is contesting two seats as part of the AIADMK led alliance here.

Fresh blasts kill six civilians, naval sailor in Lanka's east

Colombo, May 1 (UNI) At least seven people, including six civilians, were killed and eight more wounded in two separate claymore mine explosions in Sri Lanka's restive eastern province this morning, military sources here said. ''A navy sailor was killed and three others were injured in a claymore mine blast. Ban on King's 'blacklisted' leader's departure from country

Kathmandu, May 1 (UNI) The officials at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been put on high alert to prevent possible escape of some ''blacklisted King-led cabinet members'' involved in suppressing the people's movement, media reports said here today. Officials at the TIA, the only international air exit point, were given order to ban the departure of Vice chairman of King chaired cabinet Dr Tulsi Giri, home minister Kamal Thapa, a relative of the King.....
