Triveni Eng net profit up by 32 pc at Rs 131.5 cr for 2005-06

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Triveni Engineering&Industries Ltd (TEIL), a major company engaged in manufacturing of sugar and engineered-to-order mechanical equipment posted a profit increase of 32 per cent to Rs 39 crore for the quater ended March 31, 2006.

The net profit during the year increased by 32 per cent to Rs 131.5 crore as compared to Rs 99.5 crore in the previous financial year.

It has reported a 24 per cent growth in net revenue of Rs 1192 crore in the financial year ended March 31, 2006 as against Rs 961 crore in the previous financial year.

During fourth quarter of the fiscal, TEIL recorded revenue of Rs 341.9 crore.

The consolidated earnings per share having grown by 45 per cent to Rs 6.92 per share.

Explaining the improvement in operational performance, Chairman and Managing Director, TEIL, Dhruv M Sawhney said, ''We have achieved exponential growth in turnover and profit after tax in the financial year 2005-06. This is mainly due to our engineering divisions which have done exceedingly well and we expect to take this momentum forward by expanding our range and have significant proportion of our turnover through exports''.

Triveni Engineering&Industries Limited is among the 200 largest listed companies in India and has business operations in sugar co-generation of power, turbines, gears and water treatment equipment, said a company release.

MAN, Force Motors in JV to manufacture heavy trucks

Mumbai, May 1 (UNI) MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG and Indian major Force Motors Limited will invest 150 million Euros in a joint venture to manufacture heavy trucks at its Pithampur plant, initially for the Indian market and later for export to other Asian and African markets.
