Rs 50cr to be soon released to compensate poultry farmers: Kadam

Sangli, Maharashtra, Apr 30 (UNI) Maharashtra Co-operation Minister Patangrao Kadam today said Rs 50 crore will soon be disbursed to farmers affected by the bird flu scare in the State as compensation.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Kadam said a Government resolution had already been issued and the amount transferred to the Animal Husbandry Department for disbursement to farmers.

Immediately after reports of bird flu incidents, the State Government had appointed a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Mr Kadam to study the extent of losses and submit a report.

The sub committee has submitted its reportr following which the State Government has declared a Rs 80-crore package and the Rs 50-crore to be disbursed soon, is a part of the total package, Mr Kadam said.

Inflation rises to 3.55 per cent due to manufactured products
