Chennai, Apr 30 (UNI) Dr Purushothaman, fielded by the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) to seek election from Polur in Tiruvannamalai, is the most higly qualified man in the fray for honours in the May eight assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Not content with more than 12 degrees and diplomas under his belt, the 64-year-old erudite Medico has entered the hustings for yet another honour, to become the member of the state assembly.
The physician-turned-politician has already changed to Kadhi shirt and Dhoti, bordered with DMDK colours of red, black and yellow and launched a intense campaign to get this ''crucial degree''.
Dr Purushothaman, after acquiring his MBBS, completed a Bachelor's degree course in Veterinary sciences and holds a M.Phil in genetics. He also holds a Post-Graduate degree in human anatomy and a Bachelor's degree in Education.
Having a strong penchant for expanding his horizons, he pursued diploma courses in Criminology, Forensic sciences, Politics and Political administration, Journalism and Mass Communication and anthropology.
''I have served the people as a physician and I propose to use my entire gamut of knowledge to benefit the people by entering politics,'' he says. It was easy to reach and serve the people better through politics, he adds.
