Pramod Mahajan continues to be critical

Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) There is no ''significant change'' in the condition of BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan and it remains critical.

'' Mr Mahajan is on ventilator, CRRT (dialysis) and medicines to stabilise the blood pressure,'' according to the medical bulletin read out by Director (administration) Hinduja hospital Anupam Verma this afternoon.

''He is stable following the operation carried out by Dr Gustad Davar and his team yesterday,'' Mr Verma told reporters.

Replying to queries, Mr Verma said, ''There is no significant change in his condition and he still remains critical.'' ''Further surgical interventions are yet to be planned,'' he said, adding medicines are also being modulated within the same range.

Polling official hospitalised

Kochi, Apr 29 (UNI) A polling official on duty in the Thrippunithura constituency of Ernakulam district was hospitalised after he suffered a stroke this morning during the second phase of the elections to the Kerala assembly. Officials said Manuel, the second polling officer at a booth in Ponnurunthy, was taken to the Medical Centre hospital after he collapsed shortly before voting began. Polling was not affected since there were others assigned to the booth.....

Top brass to campaign for BJP in TN

Chennai, Apr 29 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lined up its top leaders, including senior leader L K Advani and former test cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, to campaign for the May eight Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Quit smoking, King advises Koirala

Kathmandu, May 1 (UNI) King Gyanendra has requested Nepal Prime Minister G P Koirala to take care of his health and ''quit smoking''. The oath taking ceremony of Nepal's Mr Koirala was postponed due to his ill-health. When Mr Koirala entered the hall for the oath taking ceremony in the palace, the King received him warmly, a close aide of Koirala said. The King asked him about his health and advised, ''PM, please you should give.....
