Patil concerned over dwindling girls' population

Sangli, Maharashtra, Apr 30 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today expressed grave concern over the reduction in girl child population.

He called for creating awarenes in the society and changing the mindset of the people to remedy the situation.

Mr Patil was speaking after felicitating veteran freedom fighter Mohan Ranade who had actively participated in the Goa liberation movement. The veteran freedom fighter was conferred the ''Sanglibhushan'' award which has been instituted by ''Vishwajagruti'' here.

Laxity of DSP led to naxal attack
