Official confirmation awaited: MEA

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Ministry of External Affairs today said it was awaiting an official confirmation from Afghanistan authorities on the body found, supposedly of kidnapped engineer K Suryanarayan.

''We are aware that the dead body of a person has been found in Afghanistan, between Qalat and Ghazni. A team has been sent to the location to verify the identity of the body,'' an official statement said.

''We must await an official confirmation from Afghanistan authorities,'' the statement added.

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today condemned the killing of Indian telecommunications worker Suryanarayan by the Taliban in Kandahar. SC issues contempt of court notices to UCS and 23 senior officers

IB official and family found dead in official quarter

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) An official of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and his three family members were found dead in his residence at Manasnagar in Chanakyapuri in Central Delhi today.
