Mamata says she helped revive sick industries

Durgapur, Apr 30 (UNI) Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee said today that she had been responsible for the revival of Eastern Coalfields Limited, Hindustan Cables limited and Brathwaight.

Ms Banerjee said she had helped revive these once sick companies when she was the Union Railway Minister under the NDA government.

While campaigning for the fourth Phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal at Palashdiha maidan near city centre, she said, '' We need your help to revive the other sick and closed industries in West Bengal,'' adding that she be given reseaonable time to revive the sick industries.

The Trinamool Congress Supremo said, '' The Delimitation Committee had recommended striking off the Durgapur constituency as an Assembly constituency but the people of Durgapur had thwarted the attempt,''.

She also lashed out at CPI(M) leader Biman Bose for raising questions as to how she could afford a copter ride.

During the day, she had campaigned at Asansol, Hirapur, Nadanghat and Burdwan.
