Centre creating confusion on Siachen issue: Rajnath

Jammu, Apr 30 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today accused the Centre of "creating confusion" over the withdrawal of troops from Siachen, the highest battle field in the world.

Talking to mediapersons just after addressing a public rally here, Mr Singh said the Centre should not decide to withdraw troops from Siachen unilateraly and the Army must be taken into confidence before taking any step in the direction.

The decision on Siachen should not be taken in a hurry as it is a matter directly related to national security.

He termed it unfortunate that the army chief had to publicly clarify twice, the confusion created by the Centre on the Siachen issue.

Coimbatore, May 1 (UNI) Two former Union Ministers will have a tough tussle in a triangular contest in the Thondamuthur Assembly constituency. Though initially the fight was only between MDMK treasurer M Kannappan and sitting Congress MLA S R Balasubramanian, BJP candidate and former MLA M Chinnaraj has joined the race.
