Advani criticises Congress, Communists for non-development

Kanyakumari, Apr 30 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National leader and former Union Minister L K Advani has alleged that both the Congress and the Communist parties were preventing the development of the country.

Addressing an election meeting at Nagercoil last night, he compared the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government to a car, and said Congress President Sonia Gandhi was handling the steering of the Government.

''While the Prime Minister accelerates the Communist parties were applying the break strongly, resulting confusion in the economic and the foreign policies of the country,'' he said.

Alleging that the country was ruled by corrupt politicians, Mr Advani said three major corruption charges had surfaced during the two-year rule of the UPA government.

The BJP had raised the questions in both the Houses of the Parliament, but the Congress failed to give a proper reply to the country,'' he added.

Claiming that the BJP is a force to reckon with in Tamil Nadu, Mr Advani urged the people to cast their vote in favour of BJP candidates.
