17 Maoists arrested in Bihar

Hajipur, Apr 30 (UNI) At least 17 CPI (Maoist) cadres were arrested in Sadar police station area in Vaishali district late last night in a special combing operation following the Maoist attack on a bank and a police station at Jandaha area recently.

DIG (Tirhut range) Gupteshwar Pandey said today that the Maoists were wanted in connection with several incidents engineered by the extremists. Of the arrested ultras, 15 were from Thathan Mohalla while two people were from Subhai Mohalla, under the Sadar police station of the district.

Officials of the special branch of the state police were interrogating the arrested comrades, he added.

PM condemns killing of Suryanarayan

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today condemned the killing of Indian telecommunications worker Suryanarayan by the Taliban in Kandahar. SC issues contempt of court notices to UCS and 23 senior officers

New delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) The Supreme Court has issued contempt of court notices to 23 senior officers of Uttar Pradesh and Union Commerce Secretary for not handing over the possession of properties belonging to the former ruler of Mahmudabad, Uttar Pradesh, despite court orders. Chinese Co questions AAI's decision to exclude it on security ground

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Chinese company Shenzhen CIMC-Tianda Airport Support (SCTAS) has challenged the alleged decision of the Centre and the AAI before the Delhi High Court to exclude it from the tender bids for the supply of aero-bridges on the ground of security threat to the country. After the preliminary arguments the High Court issued notices to the Centre through the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Aiport Authority of India (AAI) to file.....
