Unaacounted assets worth Rs 22 cr seized in IT raids

Jaipur, Apr 29 (UNI) The Income Tax department has seized jewellery and unaccounted assets worth Rs 22 crore after raids on three prominent jeweller groups here.

According to IT department, the raids conducted on houses, property and business establishments at 15 different places, revealed unaccounted for cash, jewellery and documents from six showrooms of a particular group. The raids have been going for the past two days here.

The sources said around Rs 6.5 crore cash, jewellery worth Rs 86 lakh and documents worth Rs 10 lakh have been seized from the above group.

The sources said in terms of seized unaccounted cash, it is one of the biggest raids ever conducted here. Some lockers of the jewellers are yet to be opened.

Fifteen tribale Killed 35 hostages releas in Chhattisgarh

Jagdalpur, Bastar, Apr 29 (UNI) Police today recovered bodies of 13 hostages, taking to 15 the number of people killed by CPI(M) naxalites, and later released 35 other villagers abducted on April 25 at Manikonta village in Dantewada district. Youth Cong leader shot in Haryana

Sirsa, Apr 29 (UNI) Dabwali Youth Congress President Chander Singh Brar was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Sirsa district of Haryana early this morning. Mr Brar was taken away by a group of unidentified persons to show him some property at an undisclosed destination. His body was later found between Gauriwala and Ganga villages. One shot dead, seven injured in clash

Bhatinda, Apr 29 (UNI) One person was shot dead and seven others were injured in a clash between two groups over the possession of a Gurdwara at Morkalan village in the district today. The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Jugraj Singh of Morkalan village, who died on the spot after he was shot at. Four seriously injured were admitted to DMC hospital in Ludhiana, while the others were admitted to the local civil hospital. Police.....
