Truck manufacturing facility to start at Pithampur

Indore, Apr 29 (UNI) A new truck production facility -- joint venture between Force Motors Ltd and Germany-based Man Nutzfahrzeuge -- will start at Pithampur industrial area near here tomorrow.

Man Nutzfahrzeuge, a 7.4-billion-euro Munich-based company, has tied up with Pune-based Force Motors to drive growth in the Asian, South African, South American, and South-East Asian markets in the first phase of operations.

Encouraged by the joint venture with Man, Force motors has set a target to manufacture one lakh trucks by 2010 and is hopeful to export 12,000 trucks in the next 4-6 months, sources said.

Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, MAN AG's Chairman Hakan Samuelsson, Force Motors Ltd Chairman Abhay Firodia would remain present at the inauguration ceremony.

Meanwhile, two international airliners of Swiss Air arrived for the first time at Devi Ahilya Airport here in connection with this programme.

Besides Mr Samuelsson, MAN Chairman and other foreign dignitaries were given warm welcome in the traditional manner of Malwa region.

Force Motors Ltd Chairman Firodia was also present to welcome the guests.

33KV outdoor substation installed in Bhiwani district

Chandigarh, Apr 29 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has constructed a first of its own kind outdoor 33 KV substation at village Serla in Bhiwani district in a record time of one and a half month after starting the work at a cost of Rs 75 lakh. NTPC signs PPA with HPGCL

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd today signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL) for supply of power from its power stations at Unchahar-III and Kahalgaon-II. The PPAs were signed by Mr R S Sharma, Director (Commercial) on behalf of NTPC and Mrs Jyoti Arora, Managing Director for HPGCL in the presence of senior officials of the two organisations here. Centre sanctions Rs 22 cr for agriculture development in HP

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Centre has sanctioned Rs 22.67 crore for agriculture development in Himachal Pradesh for the year 2006-2007 under the scheme of accelerated growth of agriculture and forests. The scheme was sanctioned in, high-level meeting between the officials of the central and state government here today, official sources said.
