Three labourers die while cleaning a rural toilet

Bijapur, Apr 29 (UNI) Three workers engaged in cleaning of a toilet in a village in bagewadi taluk yesterday died of suffocation, police said today.

The incident occoured at Markabbanhalli. Two other affected workers were admitted to a local hospital, Police said here.

Water shortage in 100 villages in Bijapur district

Bijapur, Apr 29 (UNI) More than 100 villages in Bijapur district face accute drinking water shortage, official sources indicated here today. The sources said that water was being supplied through tankers to 53 villages. Committees have been formed at gram panchayat level to check the situation on a daily basis.
